About a month ago, I was on Twitter (seriously the best place find news) and I came across something retweeted by Steve Stark about a new animation TV show that is being funded through Kickstarter. The show's name... Friend Us.
Friend Us, or cleverly referred to as F.U. is a cartoon about four kids who are desperately trying to get friends and gain fame by using the popular platform of social media. They set up YouTube videos, twitter accounts and Instagram accounts that tie directly into the show. The cool thing is that these animated kids are using real social media platforms as part of the show. You can follow all of the characters on Youtube, Twitter and Instagram. It's such a innovative way to bring animations to the real world.
John Hoyos is the man behind F.U. His recent Kickstarter launch ended about a month ago with a solid $40,016 with a promising goal of $30,000. John had pitched the show before, but I guess Hollywood doesn't like good, original ideas. It actually requires them to think. So, John Hoyos turned around and did a giant F.U. to Hollywood and pursued his amazing concept through people that actually appreciate original ideas...us common folk. The folk that go to Walmart for fun and buy Choco Tacos to eat while watching the YouTubes. The folk that enjoy watching a 5 second video of a waffle falling over! We get it! So, thanks to the Kickstarter community, F.U. is being made!
Thanks for reading this during your Fap Break. Enjoy the rest of your day.
